Display cabinets have always been for presenting special things. These display cases are mostly found in the living room. In times in which the boundaries between living areas are dissolving, these items of display furniture are advancing into our kitchens. This is because, here too, there are special features like high quality porcelain, stylish glasses and decorative accessories to be seen, which it would simply be a shame to hide behind opaque cabinet fronts. The solution is found in modern, illuminated display cases of glass, a material that, thanks to its versatility, has always inspired both furniture manufacturers and interior designers equally.
What makes glass cabinets so exciting and fascinating is the charming, creative game with various styles and materials: glass doors with glazing bars, framed in real wood, are simply made for country kitchens in authentic style, while display cases with black, anodised metal frames are suitable for the pronounced look in the rough industrial style. Doors without handles and glass with a bronze shade, also mounted in painted frames, add elegance and luxury in a lifestyle eat-in-kitchen. Lifestyle kitchens in dusty colours, with their dark fronts and subtly illuminated glass cabinets, are reminiscent of displays in jewellery stores.
The right display cases for every style
When an eat-in-kitchen should have a lighter and more transparent effect, this can in turn be made possible with several display cabinets with clear glass. If the dream kitchen should instead make an impression in Scandinavian style with a lot of cosiness and a pronounced atmosphere of well-being, display cases with dimmable light sources with a warm-white colour temperature below 3,300 K (Kelvin) are the right choice. One ensures a cool eye-catcher, on the other hand, with cold-white light and display cabinets with glass surfaces with, for example, a cool anthracite shade. And those who like their kitchen a little mysterious use opaque glass surfaces, where one can only guess what might be behind the semi-transparent or very dark glass. Depending upon the effect one is looking for and one's taste, the lighting can be very subtle or very impressive, ranging to a quite mysterious touch, conveyed by the attractive glass cabinets of the lifestyle kitchen.
Display cases become especially interesting for kitchens in that they can be used individually. They are equally suitable as upper or lower cabinets, as side cabinets or display case-like design glass drawers, as well as used as a cabinet placed directly on the work surface, integrated into a shelf system, as a kitchen island or as an island end. Depending upon which visual and spatial effect it should achieve. Display cabinets offer a variety of new possibilities for the planning and lighting of a kitchen. Especially because, when used in an accentuated fashion, they can become real illuminated eye-catchers in an eat-in-kitchen that immediately attract looks. Modern glass cases are especially suited as sideboards and tall cupboard display cases that help harmoniously design the increasingly dissolving transition between kitchen and living areas.
