Reading with "Axel Hacke" and book-signing

For more than 20 years, Axel Hacke’s legendary and popular column has been appearing in the magazine of the Süddeutsche Zeitung. The articles have been appearing weekly since 1997 and some people claim that they mainly subscribe to the Süddeutsche Zeitung to read Hacke’s stories. When Hacke sits on stage, he is invariably accompanied by a pile of these columns, which are laid out on the little table next to him. Hacke reads from whatever story takes his fancy at that particular moment depending on what he thinks the audience might like to hear. Hacke might talk about why the ancient Sumerians were so bad at telling jokes or why “Malaga” ice cream is preferable to all other flavours, or how Colombian ravens crack the nuts they want to eat. On the other hand, Hacke might again present the story of his Bosch refrigerator or talk about his son Luis’ nocturnal habit of smoothing clothing with a cold iron. A third possibility is that Hacke might tell a story about the white “Negro” Wumbaba or describe the latest gems he’s found in his “Wortstoffhof” word collection... But, do you know what? Why not just enjoy the surprise? In the end, that’s what’s going to happen anyway.

Joey Kelly Topic: “NO LIMIT"

Joey’s philosophy is “You have to set yourself a goal, and then you just have to get started. When you suffer the occasional setback, it doesn’t matter: You believe in your goal, and you simply keep moving forward.”

Here he reveals how one can reach one’s goals with the right energy and willpower. Joey Kelly’s accomplishments include having crossed the finish line in more than 100 competitions (for example marathons, Ironmans and desert runs). Kelly finished eight Ironman competitions within a period of only 12 months — setting a new record. With IRON CALLI he has proven once again that it pays off to fight for a goal.
