Cooking show with Reiner Calmund
Reiner Calmund, named Connoisseur of the Year 2006 by Schlemmer Atlas, was assisting Nelson Müller on his cooking show on Saturday, 22nd January 2011.
“Competence and passion — that is the recipe for success” Reiner Calmund, born in 1948, is a football expert and manager. After a sport injury in 1966 cut short his career as a footballer, his work as a manager and with football associations brought him to Bayer 04 Leverkusen in 1976. Calmund worked nearly 30 years for the Bayer Leverkusen club, which under his leadership became an internationally successful football company.
In June 2004, Calmund announced his resignation as Managing Director of Bayer 04 Leverkusen Fußball GmbH. Among his activities thereafter was to serve as an official ambassador of the North Rhine Westphalian government to the FIFA 2006 World Cup. He served in this same function at the UEFA Euro 2008 for the host city of Klagenfurt, Austria.
Reiner Calmund is active on television, on the Internet and in the print media as a columnist and a popular interview partner. He appeared in front of the camera on Big Boss, the German version of the reality show The Apprentice, on RTL. He cooked with celebrities on the show Calli kocht for the cooking station tv.gusto. Reiner Calmund has been one of the judges on the VOX TV show Kocharena since 2006. His Iron Calli project was recognized with the Health Media Award and given extensive coverage by the TV stations RTL and VOX. Published in 2008, his autobiography fußballbekloppt moved onto the Spiegel bestseller list just a few weeks after its release.
He is a valued guest and discussion partner on TV talk shows and for expert discussions, who is always ready with an exciting story or anecdote, not all of which have to do with football. His diverse experience in sport and the world of entertainment also makes Reiner Calmund a much sought-after speaker at congresses and corporate events. He has starred in the ZDF TV series Callis kleines Fußballmärchen since fall 2009.
